CORConcepts is Expanding Again
McLean, VA – September 8, 2008 – CORConcepts is excited to announce two new office expansions in three months. The COR team grew to Northern Virginia from Philadelphia just over a year ago and has already expanded to Houston and now a second location in New York. Earlier this year they also opened two new locations in Detroit and New York, making the organization six offices strong.
Kevin Smith was in charge of the team that expanded to Houston. Smith describes his team as low maintenance and was pleased to have them because they all possess the ability to get the job done. These skills are imperative to Smith in order to create a team that will succeed in a new market.
“I moved with Gabrielle [Corcoran] to start the Virginia office so I know what it takes to make our business work in a new environment. Everyone has to be able to pull their own weight and contribute to making our goals a reality. I was happy that I was able to take such a capable team with me in order to make this happen,” Smith commented.
Smith is a graduate of Elmira College and is passionate about developing people to move past him. “I have accomplished a lot but I want every member of my team to reach their own goals. I think that is what sets me apart as a leader, I work with people to make them better than I am.”
The Houston office works with a new client and was able to attract this client based on the McLean office’s campaign success. According to Gabrielle Corcoran, President of CORConcepts, “This opportunity came at the perfect time. We were considering a move west and Houston was an ideal place to start.”
The second group opened an office in Long Island, New York on September 8, 2008. Adam Keller was chosen to lead the team and work with a new client as well. This client was impressed by CORConcepts’ reputation for excellence and knew that their version of direct marketing would increase the customer base.
Keller is a graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and ran his own photography studio for three years in Philadelphia before coming to meeting Corcoran and working with CORConcepts. After only four months, Keller was one of the chosen to open the office in Northern Virginia.
Within a year of working hard every day, he was promoted to junior partner, and within another 9 months, he was preparing to leave to open his own office in Long Island, New York. Corcoran said, “Adam is one of the best leaders I have ever worked with and trained. I knew that it was only a matter of time before he would be running his own location.”
-more-
Keller’s office will be working with a new client to the CORConcepts family. Instead of bringing services directly to consumers, Keller and his team will be introducing high quality office products to small and medium size businesses.
“This will be totally different since we are working with a new company,” Keller said. “But I feel the training I received over the past eighteen months has really prepared me for success no matter what.”
Keller sets himself apart by maintaining a student mentality and always leading by example. “I want my team to be the best in business and in life. That is why I eat right, go to sleep early and exercise. I know success starts with small details,” Keller explained.
CORConcepts is headed by Gabrielle Corcoran and is headquartered in McLean, Va. The company specializes in direct marketing by bringing services directly to consumers. The company works with team members from day one in order to train them for the job and for the rest of their lives. The skills gained help team members excel in the company and in life.

Marketing Company Gives New Graduates
Options For Success
Washington, D.C. – (May 5, 2008) CORConcepts, Inc, is pleased to announce positions for new college graduates who are not afraid of a little hard work.
CORConcepts was founded by Gabrielle Corcoran in 2003 and has been expanding ever since. Since its creation in 2003 there has never been a single lay off due to downsizing and in fact the company has expanded to become four new firms in different major cities including, Detroit, Philadelphia and New York. As someone who has never been scared to roll up her sleeves, Corcoran knows how to develop and coach talent and therefore prides herself on the company training program. This ability to develop talent is evidenced by the fact that all four of the expansion offices are run by people who started as entry-level employees.
“We have always believed in promoting from within and in order to do this, our employees have to be ready to lead. We would never put someone in a position they were not ready for,” Corcoran said. In addition to the extensive training that all employees receive, there are weekly meetings in which team members talk about issues they are having and how to resolve them. This enables a free flow of communication between managers and entry-level employees. Corcoran continued, “I want everyone at my company to feel like they have a place to voice concerns and have enough support to address these concerns.”
Corcoran started her career as most do in a typical environment in which entry-level employees can be lost in the shuffle and this drove her to find a place where she was not only supported but given true room to grow and advance. She started with a private firm, and within a year was ready and trained to take over operations of the company. “Working in a typical entry-level position gave me the desire to want more and create my own success. The thing that I love most is helping other achieve their dreams like I did.”
Corcoran is excited about training the next generation of leaders and believes that those who are graduating this spring need an environment that not only provides stability but enough coaching and support to go as far as you can and not get caught up in typical corporate or federal advancement structures.

CorConcept's New York Market Welcomes a New Managing Director
McLean, Va – (April 14, 2008) When Gabrielle Corcoran wanted to conquer the New York market, she did not hesitate in sending Adam Balsinger due to the fact that he represents what hard work and dedication to the CORConcepts mission can produce.
Balsinger went to Penn State and intended on pursuing a finance career but after various internships and two years of class work, he decided that finance was not for him. Balsinger changed his major to marketing in order to graduate on time. However, when searching the job market for positions, he found that there was not anything he could do with his new degree but no real experience.
Balsinger said, “After searching, I thought I was going to have to take something to gain a little experience and then be able to transition to something more interesting.” Before taking a standard entry-level position, he interviewed with Corcoran. Balsinger decided to take a chance and started two weeks after graduating. He continued, “Instead of punishing me for not having experience, CORConcepts trained me and gave me all of the tools I needed in order to be successful.” He took advantage of the extensive training program and excelled. When a client wanted to open their marketing activities to New York customers, Balsinger jumped on the chance to learn under another manager and when she left to open additional office, he took over the entire operation.
“I was given the chance to be successful and was allowed to go as far as I thought I could. The sky is truly the limit here,” said Balsinger.
When taking over the office, he changed the name to Bold Acquisitions, Inc in order to give the New York market a distinguishing feel. He does, however, stay true to the CORConcepts values of hard work and rewarding all employees for their ambition.

CORConcepts Takes Detroit by Storm
McLean, Va – (April 8, 2008) – In order to continue growth, CORConcepts is expanding again to meet the needs of clients and increase their customer base in the Detroit, MI area. Taking over the operations of this office is seasoned manager, Maryellen Lamparter.
When Lamparter graduated from college, she knew what she didn’t want to do but did not have a clear image of what she did want to do. When a friend suggested sales, she started working with CORConcepts Founder, Gabrielle Corcoran in the Philadelphia office. Lamparter was given the opportunity to learn the CORConcepts method of face-to-face sales even though her degree and past work experience had nothing to do with business or marketing.
Lamparter said, “I’ve found that in sales, your success is based on three things: your personality, how hard you’re willing to work and your integrity with your customers. Even with a lack of experience, I was trainable and determined.”
These qualities are what gave Corcoran the confidence in sending Lamparter to open a new office in the New York market. When she had established that office and felt confident in the people in that office, Lamparter expanded again and opened the Detroit office.
While she is taking on various markets around the country, she is also staying true to the CORConcepts ideal of coaching everyone through the training process in order to help them gain the skills necessary to be successful. Lamparter continued, “I believe that everyone that I coach is different. I look to build on their strengths and over time minimize their weaknesses. In order to be successful, either as an entrepreneur, a parent, or a business professional one needs to develop as a person. My role as their mentor is to keep them on track with the goals they set for themselves.”
CORConcepts is committed to not only fulfilling client’s marketing needs but developing employees so that they have the skills to go as far as the goals set for themselves.

CORConcepts Inc. Finally Travels Westward
San Diego, CA October 20, 2006
When the merger between the country’s largest phone company and one of the largest in the world was finalized, the new company sought the help of CORConcepts for an innovative way to increase market share.
Throughout the west, mid-west, and south this company has installed a fiber-optic network to better serve customers. Following several less successful marketing attempts, the company looked for a less conventional way to create a return on investment.
Recognizing the impact on its competitors similar campaign, the new company wanted to capture the essence of their sales strengths. CORConcepts, Inc., the number-one outsourced marketing and sales firm was asked to aid in a pilot program designed to duplicate the competitors increase in market share.
“When we first started we only had one client. Now we’re having a hard time keeping up with our growing portfolio,” said Gabrielle. “It’s a good problem to have.”

Satellite Trips Develop New Managers for CORConcepts, Inc.
Bala Cynwyd PA, November 2, 2006
CORConcepts, Inc. has created another new program designed to accelerate the training of mangers as they make plans to expand 6 more times in the next 12 months. COR will continually send account representatives on satellite trips in order to develop the skills and experience necessary for advancement into management.
Account representatives have traveled throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware to gain a new perspective on how to advance into a management role through managing small groups of individuals while meeting our client’s needs in these specific markets.
During these trips, account representatives learn first hand how to handle new situations and how to manage a group of people more effectively, preparing them to take on more of a management role.
“The best way to determine the strength of a potential manager is to watch them deal with obstacles while traveling. Everything is a little harder when you’re not on home base,” says Gabrielle. “Hard training makes strong managers and well-built offices.”
CORConcepts, Inc. continues to grow and intends to expand into numerous other markets. Managers are in immense demand and these satellite trips aid in developing the necessary mentality and leadership qualities needed to expand into other offices.

CORConcepts, Inc. to Implement New Destination Training Program
Nashville, TN September 21, 2005
CORConcepts, Inc. has recently implemented a four-week destination training program designed to grow entry-level marketing representatives into management positions. Starting September 26, 2005 eighteen account representatives currently working on a campaign will travel to various southern states to learn our newest campaign.
Each business trip, lead by COR's top account representatives, will conclude in CORConcepts’ newest office location in Memphis Tennessee under the direction of Teresa Nino.
“All of our managers have in the past and will continue to start in the entry-level” said Gabrielle Corcoran, President of CORConcepts. “I have always found that travel both enhances and speeds up the training process. If there is constant change within a structured training program, people become accustomed to an evolving environment and thus are better prepared for management."
While “on the road” each representative will learn the fundamentals of working in Southern demographic, new product knowledge, campaign management and networking with other firms in their respective markets.
"Our approach to finding partners starts first with a candidate’s character, then we examine how they will contribute to COR’s high energy, fast past work environment. Finally their ability to learn new concepts is important since our commitment is train every account representative from the ground level to a senior management position," said Corcoran. "This new program is a perfect way for us to speed up the training process."

Interview with the President….
At the ripe age of 26 Maryellen Lamparter is opening up her second office. She never wanted to be a business owner, and suddenly now she is building an empire. We sat down with her to find how this happened and why.
How long ago did you start in the management training program? I started in the Philadelphia office with CORConcept during the winter of 2005. At the time, Gabrielle Corcoran, the manager of that office, was piloting a new program. They were testing out her company and the effectiveness our face-to-face approach would have on their potential customers.
Given that your educational background was not in the field of business, what attracted you towards pursuing sales and marketing? I wish I could say that I had this phenomenal plan, but really, I had no idea what I wanted to do. I knew what I didn’t want to do, and that was sit behind a desk, bored out of my mind, staring at a computer screen like my life was a part of the movie Office Space! The only thing I knew that I wanted was to work with people. A close friend of mine suggested sales.
Clearly your lack of experience hasn’t held you back from pursuing your goals. What separated you as a candidate? Luckily my mom taught me how to chit chat! I’ve found that in sales, your success is based on three things: your personality, how hard you’re willing to work and your integrity with your customers. Even with a lack of experience, I was trainable and determined!
What would you say were the biggest lessons you learned between entry-level and opening your first business? Too many people always want to think that they are a victim of their circumstances. My mentor, Gabrielle Corcoran, taught me differently, she taught me to always be responsible for myself and the outcomes of my life. If I wanted something, I was the one to make it happen and if I didn’t get it, I needed to change my approach and try again. Becoming an entrepreneur is not only holding me accountable for my future but I also have the opportunity to pass on that freedom to others.
And along with that lesson, what else do you look to pass on to those people that you now mentor? I believe that everyone that I coach is different. I look to build on their strengths and overtime minimize their weaknesses. In order to be successful, either as an entrepreneur, parent, friend, business professional etc. one needs to develop as a person. My role as their mentor is to keep them on track with the goals they set for themselves!
So do you think that people start with your company because they see the potential to become better people? I wouldn’t say that. People normally start with my company because we provide the three things they are looking for; fair compensation, upward mobility and a fun working environment. Growing and developing as a person is just a bonus! First, let’s be honest, we all want to make some money! Not only that, but I think we can all agree that we want to get paid what we’re worth! Second, if we’re talking about a career, we want to make sure that there is a future in it. Third, the job can’t bore us, because if it does, we hate coming in… which ultimately leads towards not getting ahead and not making more money.
What do you have to say about people who have spoken negatively about you, your business, CORConcpets or your mentor Gabrielle? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but unfortunately, too many people rely on the opinions of others, sometimes even strangers. I have never met ANYONE, including Gabrielle, who has made all of the right decisions, all the time, no exceptions. We run our businesses based on the fact that we can help develop people overtime to become entrepreneurs and we firmly believe that we are constantly growing and maturing ourselves. All we can do is try not to make the same mistakes twice and learn from the ones we've made in the past. I hope I am not judged in five years on the mistakes that I make today! "People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built." -- Eleanor Roosevelt
Lastly Maryellen… not to get too personal, but what is your favorite funny movie?
I’ll give you a hint… “Fat guy in a little coat…”

Why Sales?
By Yolonda Faulkner
Public Relations Director, CORConcepts.
With the price of every necessity going through the roof, everyone is looking for a way to make more money and better use of their time. Most people, however, do not have the time or means to obtain the advanced degree required to make the money they want. Companies like CORConcepts that provide the necessary training allow their employees to gain the necessary skills to be successful in their position and go as far as their goals take them. The limitless ceiling is what attracts people and while the every company in the country is at least considering scaling back their workforce, a sales person is always considered an asset because they are directly involved in bringing in revenue.
While directly contributing to the company bottom line is attractive and provides stability, it is not always a good fit for everyone. CORConcepts knows that there is a particular work ethic required in sales in order to be successful. This is something that can not be taught, no matter how much training and coaching an employee goes through. If you are willing to work hard, the other skills can be taught. Sales people can not be afraid to hear no or answer tough questions. CORConcepts President, Gabrielle Corcoran says, “It is not about ability; it is about will.”
This will is necessary for gaining the lead and closing the sale. You have to be willing to develop a lead and sometimes walk away from it if it is not a good fit. If you work hard enough to not only know your product but also know the customers who will benefit most. Customers respond to a genuine desire to help and this only comes from a willingness to do research and gain a true understanding of the market you are working in.
CORConcepts uses team members’ work ethic and will to succeed in order to sell on behalf of other companies. These companies trust the approach, professionalism and most importantly, the results. These companies are extremely successful and therefore depend on CORConcepts in order to increase their customer base. CORConcepts is successful because of the team members. Once a candidate comes on board, the training, mentoring process and team member’s work ethic make it virtually impossible to fail. The training process includes extensive teaching in sales processes and products. Team members are also able to learn how to teach. While everyone starts in sales, the most driven team members are able to move into management positions, become partners and eventually move into running their own office. This is the ultimate career path but it must be started by performing in the field.
This performance is what determines initial success and how far a team member will advance. People tend to shy away from sales because of the commission based compensation. However, in any career, if you are not performing, you will be replaced. Commission is a tangible way to reward team members for their contributions and enable them to be an integral part of their own path.
Sales is not for everyone and therefore neither is CORConcepts. However, working hard and giving a true effort has limitless rewards.
